Sedum sichotense
Phedimus sichotensis
Sedum is a rare type sichotense originating from areas of eastern Ukraine. The plant is small, upright growth, reaching only up to 10 cm. Sedum sichotense is often mistaken for small forms of Sedum kamtschaticum. Resolution of both species is almost impossible unless you have a side by side to compare plants. Sedum sichotense has purple stems and leaves slightly erect. When comparing the flowers are slight differences when sichotense Sedum has a more triangular petals.
The identification of plants I use photos only to compare
foreign sites, but also with aspects of Czech growers or dealers. When searching Sedum sichotense I found only one reference to the Czech website dealing with selling alpine plants, with an offer of this kind. Offer does seem to be questionable in the sense described plants. Sedum sichotense never nedorůstá 15 to 20 cm, as stated in the offer. It would rather hinting that this is a kind of Sedum kamtschaticum. The plant on the photo above menu is no doubt, because it is a modified photo Sedum sichotense from specialized sites Fagerlunda Wayne - Sedumphotos.
Sedum sichotense is kind of challenging and requires no special care, such as trimming or winter blanket. Thanks to its compact size and small-scale kopečkovitému shape is ideal for growing the type of habitat in sunny rock garden or trough. At the beginning of summer in the plant itself warns flood of bright yellow flowers, which produces large quantities. Nature is so tough that I survived without any problem in a plastic bowl winter when holomrazy alternated with temperatures -10 ° C with a two-month blanket of snow and temperatures up to - 15 ° C.
