Most diverse and largest state in terms of area south of Oaxaca, Mexico is an area of 93,952 square meters. The highest peak of the Sierra Madre is Zempoaltepec, reaching a height of about 3400 m
Rainfall are different by area. In Tomellin valley, where it occurs most succulent plants are the lowest, their See Preface is about 275 mm. On the mountain slopes of the ridge are Tehuantepeckého rainfall, due to the flow of humid eastern Gulf of Mexico, the highest of all of Mexico, 7000 mm per year.
At higher altitudes, from the Gulf, the decay mountain cloud forests, mixed forests are situated on the northeastern ridge in the lower altitudes. At lower altitudes arid high temperatures we find most sukulentního vegetation. Characteristic are thorny forests at low and medium altitudes, characterized by wet summers.
