Sedum sarmentosum
Sedum is the most commonly grown sarmentosum oriental species, the basic assumption of significant similarities with DMEM other species, Sedum and Sedum lineare maxicanum that comes from China and Japan. It is almost identical to the Sedum lineare, but is considerably broader and sukulentnější leaves that grow in whorls of three. The stems can grow extraordinarily long, if growth is not stopped by winter frosts.
In this case, above-ground portion dies and the plant begins to sprout again in spring. If growing in areas where winter is mild, growing into large carpet, creating an extremely long stems, up to two meters long.
Lanceolate leaves at three, on long stems are the best indicator of identification. Leaf color can vary from a light pea green to bronze, cream-colored stems. As already noted, when growing in areas with mild winters, it must be very careful about the expansive growth. In a very short time, its dense growth can cover the area and neighboring plants. Therefore, it is best grown in hanging pots or raised edges and raised beds where Sedum sarmentosum stand out. Wild flowers of light yellow color appeared in the summer.
In our conditions suitable cover against excessive winter wet. On arrival the first frost kills aboveground parts. Plant reflected again in the spring. The literature stated that complies sarmentosum Sedum shade and moist habitats. I grow it on a stone wall, all day in direct sunlight, where the drainage in a very strong, almost the whole summer without water. Plants also can handle full sun location, if given the option to hide the roots into the slot, where it maintains a cooler and wetter prostředí.Je an interesting Stonecrop suitable for window boxes sesazenn along with other flowering plants such as petunia, geraniums and more.
Similar growing conditions are also very closely related to two other species, Sedum and Sedum mexicanum liner, also from China and Japan. Sedum lineare is very often confused with Sedum sarmentosum. The resolution is possible by čárkovitých flat sheet, unlike the broader leaves Sedum sarmentosum. The stems grow to 30 cm in length. Sedum mexicanum distinguished from the previous two species by glossy, čárkovitých. sessile, almost spherical leaves in whorls of 3 -5.
